An attractive and beautifully crafted clock which would grace any home, it would be a perfect treat for yourself or would make a stylish gift for a special occasion.
The clock has a polished pewter body with blue/green enamel on the face, and a lovely sunset design at the top with atmospheric yellow, green and blue colouring. The whole piece has a stylised organic design typical of the Arts and Crafts movement.
Handmade in Birmingham using English lead-free pewter, by a family business which has been manufacturing since 1779.
The clock is 13.8 cm tall, 9.5 cm wide and 2.8 cm deep. It weighs 356g.
It has a quartz movement which takes an AA battery ( included in the box)
Archibald Knox was born in the Isle of Man of Scottish parenthood. His designs were synonymous with British Art Nouveau and he is regarded as being a prominent influence in the Arts and Crafts movement. His Celtic designs and calligraphy are world famous and iconic in the Isle of Man. Today both his art work for Liberty & Co and his watercolours are highly sought after.
