Made from English pewter with enamel detailing it is based on a design by the Arts and Crafts designer Archibald Knox . It is handcrafted in Birmingham by a family business which has been manufacturing in the city of a thousand trades since 1779.
The clock has a solid pewter body with an integral pewter stand at the back.
The clock stands 9 cm tall, 8.8 cm wide, 2.2 cm deep and weighs 205g.It has a quartz movement which needs an AA battery (supplied in box).
Archibald Knox was born in the Isle of Man of Scottish parenthood. His designs were synonymous with British Art Nouveau and he is regarded as being a prominent influence in the Arts and Crafts movement. His Celtic designs and calligraphy are world famous and iconic in the Isle of Man. Today both his art work for Liberty & Co and his watercolours are highly sought after.
