This handsome clock would grace so many different styles of home, it would be a perfect treat for yourself or would make a stylish gift.
It has a polished pewter body with a gorgeous blue/green enamel face and decorative inlays. The body of the clock is decorated with stylised knot patterns, reflecting Celtic influences on Archibald Knox's designs. Instead of numbers, the face features the Latin inscription 'Festiae Leate' More Haste less speed.
Handmade in Birmingham using English pewter, by a family business which has been manufacturing since 1779.
It has a quartz movement which takes an AA battery (supplied in the box)
The clock is 15 cm tall, 11 cm wide, 4 cm deep and weighs 360g.
Archibald Knox was born in the Isle of Man of Scottish parenthood. His designs were synonymous with British Art Nouveau and he is regarded as being a prominent influence in the Arts and Crafts movement. His Celtic designs and calligraphy are world famous and iconic in the Isle of Man. Today both his art work for Liberty & Co and his watercolours are highly sought after.
