This gorgeous sterling silver fruit knife was hallmarked in Birmimgham, by George Unite & Sons of Caroline Street in 1870, during the reign of Queen Victoria. The same year that postcards and halfpenny postage stamps were introduced by the Post Office.
It has a pretty carved mother of pearl handle and a decorative engraved bolster.
These little knives were very popular as wedding gifts. How lovely would it be to share it's personal history.......
