I love the simplicity of this antique spoon with its exquisitively formed bowl. It has a very modern look for something so old.
This antique silver spoon was hallmarked in Birmingham 1915 and is by J.Sherwood & Son of Regent Works, Regent St. This was the second year of the First World War when women were officially permitted to act as bus and tram conductors for the duration of the War.
The spoon is in excellent condition, was probably used as a sugar or jam spoon, and would be perfect to use as that again.
Just imagine the occasions it may have been present at.
A lovely gift for someone who likes things a little different - maybe for a Christening, Engagement or Anniversary.
