An exquisite small work of art, this is a solid foundry bronze by sculptor David Meredith who specialises in depicting British wildlife. A celebration of our elusive river and sea creatures, the sculpture depicts a sinuous swimming salmon; it sits delicately on its fins, appearing to float in its natural habitat.
A perfect present for the flyfisher in your life, the piece would sit elegantly on any desk top or mantelpiece.
David counts the Midlands as his home, but spends the colder months at his new studio in Thailand which is next door to the modern foundry where his work is cast, resulting in beautifully detailed sculptures. He believes that " the greatest sculptor of all is nature itself "
It stands 3.8 cm tall, 9 cm long and 2.5 cm wide. It is stamped with the artist's initials.
