This model of a very popular breed, the ever faithful Labrador, has been designed by artist Michael Simpson. Featuring a very proud mum with her two puppies, he seems to capture the fun loving and affectionate nature they have as the puppies snuggle up to mum.
It is easy to see why Michael's sculptures are so popular, he has a keen eye for the form and character of the animal he is modelling, be it wildlife or Labradors. Michael studied in Staffordshire and was inspired by the traditions of pottery in Stoke on Trent. As a result of this he sometimes works in clay for his initial modelling, unlike most bronze artists who always use wax.
These dogs are made from solid foundry bronze, with a hand finished patina.
It is a limited edition sculpture - number 18 of 150.
She sits 11 cm tall, 9.5 cm wide and 12 cm deep. The sculpture weighs 972g.
Each piece comes beautifully boxed with a certificate of authenticity. The certificate also includes information about the artist and the edition number .
