Just the cutest of puppies! This model of a very popular breed, the ever faithful Labrador, before it has grown enough to fit it's skin or feet, is designed by artist Michael Simpson.
It is easy to see why Michael's sculptures are so popular, he has a keen eye for the form and character of the animal he is modelling, be it wildlife or Labradors puppies. Michael studied in Staffordshire and was inspired by the traditions of pottery in Stoke on Trent. As a result of this he sometimes works in clay for his initial modelling, unlike most bronze artists who always use wax.
These dogs are made from solid foundry bronze, with a hand finished patina.
It is a limited edition sculpture - one of 250.
She stands 4 cm tall, 5 cm wide, 2.2 cm deep and weighs 95g.
