What a beauty! This owl is perched on a branch at night , listening for the rustling of its next meal.
It is easy to see why Michael's sculptures are so popular, he has a keen eye for the form and character of the animal he is modelling, be it a handsome owl or a Cockapoo. Michael studied in Staffordshire and was inspired by the traditions of pottery in Stoke on Trent. As a result of this he sometimes works in clay for his initial modelling, unlike most bronze artists who always use wax.
The owl is made from solid foundry bronze, with a hand finished patina. It stands 23 cm tall, is 16 cm wide and weighs approximately 1.75kg.
This is a limited edition piece, number 18 of just 95.
Each piece comes beautifully boxed with a certificate of authenticity. The certificate also includes information about the artist and the edition number .
