These lovely little cases were used to keep matches in, to keep them dry and to have them to hand when they were needed. Nowadays they can be worn as an unusual pendant or can make gorgeous little keepsakes.
Hallmarked in Birmingham in 1905 by Albert Jackson, it is in almost perfect condition, treasured by someone for many years. A lovely gift as an unusual birthday present, a silver anniversary present or a gift for someone with an interest in history.
It measures 4.5 cm tall, is 3.4 cm at it's widest point. It is beautifully engraved in a very stylish pattern.
