A real find! This exquisite solid silver toast rack is just lovely! What a wonderful present for a silver wedding anniversary.
It was hallmarked in Sheffield in 1934, by George Howson & Harrison Brothers. 1934, the year that Dinky Toys were first introduced by Meccano, London Zoo opened its penguin pool and the first Glyndebourne Festival Opera season was held.
It is beautifully designed with a touch of Art Deco style, and still in excellent condition. Just imagine the breakfast tables it has graced in its time. In modern times, what a wonderful way to make breakfast more of an occasion.
