This lovely large sterling silver locket was hallmarked in Birmingham in 1978, and made by Joseph Smith & Sons of Vittoria Street in the city's historic Jewellery Quarter.

Substantial in size and weight, the locket is designed in the Victorian Style, being  beautifully decorated with ornate foliate engraving on the front. It is in lovely condition, the back is high polished silver and bears a clear hallmark. The inner section is the original and is complete. The hinge works well and it closes easily.

The pendant has a total drop of 6.5 cm, including the silver bale and it is 4.2 cm wide. It is presented on a brand new quality 60 cm (24 inch) rope chain with a bolt ring catch.

It offers a wonderful way to keep photos of your loved ones close to your heart- two oval photos (48mm x35mm) could be enclosed within.
