It was hallmarked in Birmingham in 1959 by E. Lilley & Co of Great Hampton Street in Birmingham's historic Jewellery Quarter.
1959, the year The British Motoring Corporation built the first Mini, and the first section of the M1 was opened.
It has a strong safe catch with the addition of a safety chain. It is oval in shape, measuring 6.4 cm by 5.9 cm and is 0.9 cm wide, weighing 16.5g. It has 'Olwen R James' engraved on the inside.
