A very attractive quality wooden chess set with a finely crafted board.
The board is new, finely hand-crafted in Birmingham. It is made principally from Birch, the black squares having been stained, and the frame is Oak. It is finished with a Liberon Wax polish.
The wooden Staunton chess set is a refurbished vintage set from circa 1960s, cleaned and newly waxed and with a non-slip baize to their bases.
The King measures 70mm by 28mm. The board measures 475mm square, each square measuring 55mm x 55mm. The set is in very good condition with just a couple of very minor chips on two pieces.
It would make a perfect gift for anyone who loves the game of chess and who would appreciate a quality wooden set to grace their home and enhance their chess experience.
