This pretty vintage silver thimble was hallmarked in Birmingham in 1931, by Henry Griffiths and Son.  The same year as The Highway Code was first published and the Abbey Road studios were opened in London - by Edward Elgar.

It is prettily decorated with dots and a repeated star design. It has been stamped with 'The Spa' on the bottom rim. How lovely to think how many different sewing projects it has been part of in its lifetime.....

It is in good condition -  just a very small hole on the top -  with a lovely clear hallmark, treasured by someone for many years.  A lovely gift for a keen needle-person, or a lover of exquisite small objects.

It measures 2 cm tall, with a diameter of 1.6 cm.
