An exquisitely engraved sterling silver vintage bangle, hallmarked in Chester in 1955 having been expertly made in Birmingham by Smith & Pepper who worked out of the workshop that is now the Museum of The Jewellery Quarter.
A fine example of the skill and artistry that the jewellery quarter was so renowned for, this sterling silver bangle bracelet is, unusually, engraved all the way around, in a beautiful foliate scroll design.
It has a strong safe catch with the addition of a safety chain and is In good condition, not even a wrinkle! This beautiful bangle has obviously been much treasured, It is now time for someone new to add their own history to its story .
It would make a perfect present for someone born in 1955, or for anyone who loves vintage silver and values wearing a little bit of history and appreciates the skills of a bygone era.
It is oval in shape, measuring 5.9 cm by 5.5 cm internally, is 1.9 cm wide and weighs 27.6g. It has good clear hallmarks.
