A superb example of the work of Claire Woodhall, this pair of Limited Edition handmade vases was produced at Dartington Pottery in Devon.
Claire worked at Dartington Pottery alongside Janice Tchalenko, as a designer and Head Decorator, and produced many of their most well known patterns such as Peacock and Quilt in their standard range. She also designed some more individual Limited Edition pieces, such as these impressive vases which showcase her distinctive style, love of glazes, bold colour and expressive pattern. Her designs can be seen in the Contemporary Ceramics collection at the Victoria and Albert Museum.
Both pieces are signed, stamped and dated to 2001. One is no.5, the other is no,15, of an edition of 50.
The vases would look impressive sitting on either side of a mantelpiece and are a wonderful 36 cm tall and 14 cm wide.
