This vintage silver napkin ring was hallmarked in Birmingham in 1949 by Henry Griffith & Sons of Warstone lane. 1949 - the same year that the rationing of clothing ended in the UK and George Orwell's 1984 was published.
It is still in excellent condition. It has an unusual shape so it would sit firmly on the table, no rolling around for this one! The date 16.8.53 is engraved on the inside.
A lovely gift for someone who likes things a little different - maybe for a Christening, Engagement or Anniversary.
