Hallmarked in Birmingham in 1913 by R.H.Thornton in the heart of the historic Jewellery Quarter. It is in excellent condition, with very beautiful foliate scroll engraving front and back. There are also finely engraved initials on the shield-shaped cartouche on the front. The hinged lid opens and closes easily and it has nice clear hallmarks inside.
It would make a lovely gift as an unusual birthday present, a silver anniversary present or a gift for someone with an interest in history.
It measures 5.8 cm tall, and 3.8 cm wide and 0.9 deep. It weighs 20g.
