This ladle is 190 years old. Just imagine what it may have seen in its time, what occasions it has graced. Maybe it was used for a dinner at a grand country house!
This antique silver ladle was hallmarked in London in 1834, by Randall Chatterton. This was during the reign of William IV, when Birmingham Town Hall was opened and much of the Palace of Westminster was destroyed by fire.
The ladle is in very good condition, with a clear hallmark on the back and a crest of an animal's head on the front. It was probably used to serve sauces at the table, and would be perfect to use as that again.
A lovely gift for someone who likes things a little different - maybe for a Christening, Engagement or Anniversary.
The ladle is 17.2 cm long and 6.4 cm at it's widest. It weighs 61g.
