Brooches have been a popular piece of jewellery for many years, in fact they are having a resurgence at the moment, so it is wonderful to find an antique brooch that is still stylish in modern times.

This attractive antique silver brooch was hallmarked in Birmingham in 1890.  'Saying it with flowers' has been passed down through the generations so floral decorations have always been popular.

In really good condition for such an old lady, this would be a lovely meaningful gift to a vintage silver lover.

In 1890, during the reign of Queen Victoria, the Forth bridge opened to train traffic, Battersea Bridge opened in London and Oscar Wilde's only novel The Picture of Dorian Gray was published.

The brooch is 4.5 cm long and 1.7 cm deep.

Will be delivered in a Smithsonia gift box.
