Despite this being a proper antique - 148 years old - this bangle has quite a contemporary design for its time. Attractively engraved with a mix of linear and floral designs, it was hallmarked in Birmingham in 1876 by John and Ann Thropp of Hurst Street. 

1876, during the reign of Queen Victoria, Lewis Carroll published the nonsense poem 'The Hunting of the Snark', and grey squirrels were introduced to England.

The bangle has a strong safe catch with the addition of a safety chain. It is In good condition, not even a  wrinkle!   

It is oval in shape, measuring 6 cm by 4.2 cm ( suitable for a slimmer wrist) , and it is 1.8 cm wide. It weighs 25.7g.

The bangle will be delivered in a Smithsonia gift box.
