A very handsome quality chess set with a finely crafted board.
The board is new, finely hand-crafted in Birmingham. It is made from Birch and Oak, the black squares having been stained. It is finished with a Liberon Wax polish.
The wooden St George's chess set is a refurbished vintage set, circa 1950, cleaned and newly waxed and with a non-slip baize to their bases. The pieces are in very good condition with just a couplke of very tiny cracks in two pieces.
The Queen measures 65mm tall. The board measures 317mm square and it is 35mm high. Each square measures 35mm by 35mm.
It would make a perfect gift for anyone who loves the game of chess and who would appreciate a very attractive quality wooden set to enhance their chess experience.
