The board is new, finely hand-crafted in Birmingham. It is made principally from Birch, the black squares having been stained, and the frame is Ash. It is finished with a Liberon Wax polish. It has four baized shallow feet to raise the board slightly.
The wooden Staunton chess set is a refurbished vintage set, cleaned and newly waxed and with a non-slip baize to their bases.
The King measures 82mm by 32mm. The board measures 488 mm square, each square measuring 52mm x 52mm.
