A very handsome quality chess set with a finely crafted board.
The board is new, a competition size board finely hand-crafted in Birmingham. It is made principally from Birch, the black squares having been stained, and the frame is Ash. It is finished with a Liberon Wax polish.
It has four shallow baized feet to raise the board slightly.
The wooden Staunton chess set is a refurbished vintage set, cleaned and newly waxed and with a non-slip baize to their bases.
The King measures 90mm by 35mm. The board measures 505 mm (20 inches) square.
