This sculpture is a wonderful depiction of one of our most beloved British animals, created by artist Michael Simpson. You can just imagine her in the early morning March light boxing away an ardent suitor .
Michael studied in Staffordshire and was inspired by the traditions of Stoke on Trent. As a result of this he works in clay for his initial modelling, unlike most bronze artists who use wax.
The hare is made from solid foundry bronze, with a hand finished patina. Each piece is numbered ( this piece is number 7 of 150 ), and engraved with the artist's signature .
She is 16 cm tall, 10 cm wide, 8 cm in breadth and weighs 475g.
The sculpture comes beautifully boxed with a certificate of authenticity. The certificate also includes information about the artist and the edition number .
