Turquoise and December Birthdays.

Historically, in this country, there aren't as many birthdays in December as in some other months, December babies should still be able to enjoy their special day as much as someone born in May or August. The tendency to combine Christmas and December birthdays must be stopped!! And no, I am not born in December, but three of my immediate family are.🙂🙂
The most popuar birth months tend to be August and September.
Do the maths! Cold weather, romantic evenings snuggled in front of the fire, Christmas parties and celebrations can result in a birth boom nine months later!
The most popular birthstone for December is the gorgeous Turquoise, one of the world's oldest gemstones, with it's history rich in lore and legends.
No Turquoise stone is the same due to the markings - known as Matrix - in each stone which can be fine, like a spiderweb, or thicker darker channels. It also varies in colour and shade from green to blue

Turquoise has a long history - it was very popular during the times of the ancient Egyptians - for its beauty but also it was believed it had strong healing and protective powers. Native American tribes used it as a ceremonial gem and means of exchange. It is used as decoration in the glorious Taj Mahal as it was believed the sky blue colour represented heaven.

If you look up the believed healing powers of Turquoise you could believe it is a total miracle stone! From healing the throat to instilling inner peace. Whatever your beliefs about the power of stones, personally I love the idea that wearing a favourite piece of jewellery can also make you feel better. 😍
