This stylish antique silver thimble was hallmarked in Birmingham in 1893, by James Fenton.
1893, during the reign of Queen Victoria was the year that both the White Star line SS Naronic and the HMS Victoria sank at sea.
The thimble is attractively decorated in a Princess May style design (in the year that she got married to Prince George) and a diamond pattern background.
It is in excellent condition, treasured by someone for many years. A lovely gift for a keen needle-person, or a lover of exquisite small objects.
It measures 2.1 cm tall, the inner diameter of the finger opening is 1.5 cm.
It has been cleaned in a jewellers ultasonic bath to bring out the best of this mini work of art.
