It is so pleasant to put a face to a piece of jewellery, to meet the designer and maker of one of our most popular jewellery collections. This is not so easy for you, so let me introduce you to Linda Macdonald.
Linda Macdonald Jewellery is one of the best British jewellery brands, a specialist in Handmade Designer Silver Jewellery inspired by nature and romance. All designed and made in Scotland by Linda and a small team of skilled jewellers.

We have been selling Linda's jewellery for quite a few years now and her beautiful pieces have always been in demand in the shop, and now on our website.

Linda lives in a beautiful part of Scotland with her husband, two children and dog -Merlot. She attended the Glasgow School of Art, graduating in 1996. During her first year there she was able to experiment a little in jewellery making, and ultimately changed her course to Jewellery and Silversmithing, something we are very thankful for! Now we can wear one of her works of art, rather than just admire it.

Linda had always wanted to illustrate children's books and you can definitely appreciate this in some of her sketches, like this one. She has also found that , having two children of her own, she sees the world through different eyes and uses this in her designs.
Living in such a beautiful part of the world is hugely inspiring - Linda says "I am inspired by rain puddles as well as sunshine and flowers " ( may be a good thing, remembering the weather on some of my trips to Scotland!!)

Merlot needs plenty of exercise and these walks provide lots of time to admire views, sketch and let her imagination roam.
Linda Macdonald Jewellery has been established for over 20 years as a business, winning the Designer of the Year Award in 2012 -an award voted for by both the public and the industry - so a very special achievement.
Linda believes that jewellery is "a precious gift, given and received with a lot of sentimental meaning, making each piece very special to make." Her sterling silver jewellery is always highlighted with little gold details, adding a little something extra to the designs.

Designs are added regularly. New for 2020, we have 'Into the Woods', featuring hearts, hares and trees. Just delightful !
All I can say is, let the wanders with Merlot, and the wonders of being a mum, continue to inspire Linda to create such lovely, sometimes whimsical, always beautifully crafted, works of art that we can wear each day.
