Hickory Dickory Dock, The Mouse Ran Up The Clock.....

A new addition to both our clock collection and raku ceramics is this fantastic range of clocks by Ian Roberts.

Ian had a family connection with the antique trade and started work in pottery restoration. This developed into a passion for the ceramics themselves, resulting in these stylish and quirky clocks. Each of the clocks are raku fired and hand painted, so each one is unique.

"Now the science part".......Raku was first recorded in Japan in the 1600's and was introduced to the West by Bernard Leach in the 1920's. It involves melting the glazes at intense heat and then cooling rapidly.  Any of you who watched 'The Great Pottery Throw Down' will remember the complicated process  and the risk of cracks. This knowledge makes these clocks even more impressive!

They come as mantel clocks or wall clocks with a pendulum. The extra special addition is a little mouse hidden somewhere on each clock.

I have a lime green one hanging on my kitchen wall next to a wall decorated with Quentin Blake wallpaper. The two really compliment each other......

Each clock is also signed and numbered. Prices start at £130.
Come and take a look.
