Don't you just love May?

And by May I mean the month, not Theresa!
Personally, it is my favourite month by far. I married in May, so obviously celebrate an anniversary, I was born in May, so obviously celebrate that, and we always have a holiday - another reason to be happy!
But personal reasons apart, it is a wonderful month. The gardens are full of fresh green leaves and gorgeous spring flowers, the weather starts to warm up (normally) and the days get longer. Butterflies and bees appear.

We all start to sit outside pubs, restaurants and coffee shops and everything feels better.
So what is interesting about May? It used to be said that it was unlucky to get married in May - "Marry in May and you'll rue the day". Obviously I don't believe this, having just celebrated 20 years together!

Apparently you also shouldn't buy a broom or wash a blanket!

The birthstone for May is the emerald, emblematic of love and success.

It is the fifth month of the year, the final month of Spring.

I think we should celebrate everything green!

In the UK, we celebrate May as National Smile Month.

Of course we have May the 4th as Star Wars Day ( May the force be with you!) We have nothing in the shop that has even the smallest connection to Star Wars, sorry.

There are two bank holidays in May, the Empire State Building was officially opened on May 1st 1931, and finally, in any given year no month ever begins or ends on the same day of the week as May does .
